U15 Rockfest
About: • Four U15 Regional RockFest events will be organized by Curling Canada in coordination with Member Associations (MAs) – U15 RockFest West (BC, YK, NT, AB), U15 RockFest Prairies (SK, MB), U15 RockFest East (NO, ON, NU, QC), U15 RockFest Atlantic (NB, PE, NS, NL) • Each Regional RockFest event will take place over 3 days (Friday to Sunday). • All curlers will compete in U15 Singles, the Golden RockFest, Triples, and participate in a Skill
Development Clinic and fun off-ice activities. • Once the top curlers from each MA are determined and chosen to advance to their U15 Regional RockFest event, they will have to pay a registration fee to the MA who is hosting the Regional event. • The registration fee for each Regional event will be set at $50 per curler. • Curlers are responsible to pay for their own expenses to attend the U15 Regional RockFest event. • This age and stage (Train to Train) is critical in our Long-Term Curler Development (LTCD) framework and we want individual curlers to have an opportunity to experience a skill development event that extends their learning both on and off the ice. How will curlers be selected? • U15 curlers, Age 11- 14 as of June 30, 2024 will complete the U15 Singles skills and enter their scores on Curling Canada’s Singles App. • Quota numbers can be filled directly from the app or through an in-person Singles qualifying event(s). o In order to play in the RockFest curlers must have their Singles scores submitted on the app. • The top curlers from each MA (equal number of boys and girls, including those who self-identify) will then advance and compete at one of four U15 Regional RockFest events based on their MA location. • 5 boys and 5 girls will attend from the Yukon
